I agree we should reach out to people in need, but I think banning assault rifles is also important.  I am a supporter of second amendment rights, but I do not believe all gun control infringes on those rights.  Stockpiling weapons, BUYING ASSAULT RIFLES - those are warning signs.  Why would a civilian ever, EVER need to own even one assault rifle? People kill people, but they often use guns to do it, and without that semi-automatic weapon Holmes would have killed fewer people.
