Last Day of the Year - Groovelily (in Striking 12)

I’ve only gotten the chance to see Striking 12 live once, but it’s become a tradition for me to listen to this album at least once during the week leading up to New Years.  This song always resonates with me, because we all have those moments on New Years Eve when we reflect on the missed opportunities of the past year.  Right now I’m looking back on this year - and I’m actually really happy with it.  I did salsa dance, I went to Tanzania, I tried to be a good daughter, and I worked hard at a job that I really like.  Still, I really like the imagery in this song.  Especially when he compares an overcrowded subway to champagne bubbling out of the bottle.
