Wow.
My sister is most likely auditioning for Skins
! Oh God, what have I done? I just sent it out there, and now I can’t take it back. They have that addled sleep deprived, slightly buzzed explanation of all my academic failures. They have that stupid resume that doesn’t seem to list any accomplishments. I talked ad nauseum about my high school debate club. FFFFFUUUU What have I done?
But it’s due in 20 mins. so I’m not to proud of the timeline. The last bit was explaining why I have withdrawn from classes (why the f#$* do you think?) So tired.
That’s right, two hours before the deadline.. but I’m more scared that they just won’t like me no matter what I write.
Mad Men - 3.11
I loved this moment. For Joan to do that, she’s definitely put up with quite a bit of crap. She’s normally so composed, I think what the writers have shown us is just the tip of the iceberg with these two.
There is an open call for 16-18s in New York and Toronto on November 15 for Skins USA. This would be okay but apparently one of the characters they are auditioning is…
‘Tony’ : Tall and beautiful, caucasian Alpha male. Good at everything he does. Manipulative
So it appears they are just taking the first generation and recasting it with Americans and shoving it in Baltimore. I’m really upset by this and will definitely not be watching the show now (except maybe the first episode out of curiosity). It’s going to suck. This is so unoriginal, and I’m surprised they aren’t even making the effort to cast kids in Baltimore because UK Skins cast in a few places, including Bristol, to just try and get a sense of accuracy.
I am disappointed about this. Especially that they aren’t casting in Baltimore at all. It would suck if they are just completely replicating the cast, but my hope is that they will still develop a unique cast and storyline, in the same way that the Office took on new life when it came across the Atlantic.
